About Peace Corps Madagascar
Peace Corps started its program in Madagascar in 1993 with 8 Education PCVs working as teacher trainers. An Environment project was created in 1994, then health in 1995 and Small Enterprise Development in 2008. Today, Peace Corps Madagascar has approximately 120 Volunteers working in Education, Agriculture and Health. Volunteers are located in the most under-served regions of the country, living and working at the community level where they learn and speak the local dialects of Malagsy.
